Hello, I am Matt, and I am thrilled you found my site. First, I want to welcome you, and next, thank you for taking the time to view my posts about me and my website, Detail Your Rides. I hope you enjoy your visit.

I recently started writing about detailing automobiles because it allowed me to do something related to my summer passion: detailing my vehicles. The fact is, I have always had a desire for the new car’s look, smell, and feel.

In the late fall and winter months, when it turns cold here in the Midwest, I cannot detail my automobiles as much as I like. Instead, I write about informative and helpful how-to topics. Also, I write about what is happening inside the auto detailing industry.

My Background

I was born and raised in Southwestern Ohio. In high school, I enrolled in automobile repair courses. Working with automobiles has always been something I have enjoyed. I was employed in the automotive industry for eighteen years after graduating high school.

Since leaving the automotive industry, I have been working in the Information Technology field, another obsession of mine. Automobile detailing and technology have similar characteristics in that I must be organized, structured, committed, and meticulous to do either.

My Time Spent in the Automotive Industry

During my time in the automobile industry, I did many things, such as working in parts departments, service departments, and body shops. There were even a couple of times in my career when I operated tow trucks for two local towing companies.

I learned many things about making major and minor repairs, hooking cars to wreckers, towing vehicles distances, clean-ups, delivery preps, and detail work on the car’s interior and exterior.

Still, I enjoyed cleaning a car so well that it looked like a new car when I finished.

My customers have told me that once I complete detailing their vehicle, it looks far better than when they first drove it off the new car lot.

My Daily Drive

I own the model year 2020, Ford F-250, Super Duty, 6.7-liter Powerstroke Diesel with Turbo Boost. It has a Velocity Blue-colored exterior and a black leather interior.

The Platinum Edition includes the panoramic electric sunroof/moon roof with an automatic sliding rear window. The truck is lifted four to six inches higher off the ground.

I have always had success with Ford vehicles. I have owned many models in the Ford line-up, but this has been my favorite vehicle to own and drive.

It is like going luxury but highly competent for the off-road adventure enthusiast.

Helping and advising people is enjoyable for me.

Another thing about this website is that it will allow me to help people with questions or concerns about detailing their automobiles.

I hope to guide people toward proven products using reviews and demonstrations. I want to help you choose proven products that are in the marketplace. Thousands of products perform amazingly well for every stage of detailing your vehicle, but there are also some inferior products.

I will explain the problems running your car through automatic car washes in future posts. They can be expensive (long-term) and do more harm than good for your vehicle’s finish.
